Lost Sailor (Shoreline)
No brew offering would be complete without an imperial something or other. Leave it to Shoreline to serve up an Imperial Stout cold and flat. At least they served it in a nice glass...
From the Shoreline website:
"A very special offering from Shoreline, intense chocolate, coffee and warm alcohol flavors abound in this strong stout. Made with two types of richly roasted Allegro coffee, from our friends at Lakeshore coffee. Served in a 10 and a half ounce glass."
General Thoughts
Look and Smell: This beer was a nice dark color. The tiny layer of foam on top was a chocolate color. It smelled malty. It looked nice and thick.
Taste: This had a light roast and malt taste. It was thick and even a bit syrupy. Even with the malt taste, it wasn't too sweet. It wasn't too bitter either. It was a decent dessert beer. This was no coffee beer though. They could have brought out those flavors a little more. The aftertaste was a bit syrupy for my taste. I may or may not order it again. It wasn't any thing spectacular.
