Unforgettable Face

Highland Cattle, Flåm, Norway

Look at this face! Sometimes you see a face you can't forget. This is one of those faces. I saw a field of these guys on the way up to a waterfall in Flåm, Norway. I wanted to spend all day with them! A quick Google search is giving me the idea that these are Highland cattle.

They were so chill. Even as their bangs got in their eyes as they munched on the grass, they weren't phased. They slept, they ate, they hung out with each other. If they weren't so big and didn't have those massive horns I'd want to cuddle them. Eh, who am I kidding? I don't think size or pointy horns could stop me!

Pay attention on your travels. Take a photo or two, but really just soak it in.

Sugar Bliss Macarons

Sugar Bliss Patisserie
115 N Wabash Ave. | Chicago, IL 60602

It's no secret that I like macarons. Colorful and delicate. Crisp with a little chew. Filled with jam, marzipan, or buttercream.

They are difficult to make, but wherever I go I seem to find someone who has mastered the art. I've had macarons on the Côte d'Azur. I've had macarons from Miami to Pasadena.

St Pete's Twisted Glass

You never know what you'll find in a tourist magazine. I'm not above visiting the local haunts and tourist traps. They're popular for a reason. They might be fun or good for a laugh later. With the traveling public tied to chain restaurants and main attractions, it's fun to visit a local spot and give them a bit of business.

I was in St. Pete, Florida dazed and looking for something to do. I discovered that they had much more than just spring break attractions. I've heard the Dali Museum is fantastic. The collection is amazing enough to make me wonder how it ended up near Tampa. But I was short on time and had to pick one spot to visit. I ended up at the Morean Arts Center at the Chihuly glassworks collection.

Spring has sprung, and I'm still at it!

Spring has sprung!

I've been a bit blog-quiet, but rest assured, I've been eating (too much), drinking (delicious concoctions), and being Tani.

With a very mild winter, I didn't pause or hibernate. I saw plays, really good and not so good. I had celebrations for friends changing jobs, moves, marriages, and life.

This year feels like this is a year of renewal. Big things are happening for those around me.

Mother Nature is still at it with hot flashes and frost on the train platform. Who knows what summer has in store for us!

This is your periodic reminder to embrace life, try that new restaurant, and drag yourself to the museum. The world is out there my friends. Don't get too caught up in the daily grind that you lose sight of that.
