Peg Leg (Haymarket)
My second installment of my Haymarket pub brews is this yummy smoked porter. These are short, love/hate notes.
General Thoughts
Look and Smell: This black brew had a thin-ish, coffee-colored head. It left thick lacing as I drank it down though.
Taste: It was very creamy and it was smoky. It wasn't liquid smoke overload here; it was nice and subtle.
From the menu:
A brewing collaboration with the Chicago History Museum. Robust porter brewed with 80% Weyermann Smoked Barley from Bamburg, Germany, which has been smoked over beechwood.
Apparently, this brew was renamed "Cease and Desist Smoked Porter" this past week.
