Faustenstein (Revolution)

I couldn't refuse Mr. K's generous offer to trade this delicious, whiskey barrel-aged weizenbock/porter blend for my so-so stout.

General Thoughts
Look and Smell: This black brew had a thin ring that sticks. It smelled boozy and caramel-y.

Taste: It had a slight alcohol burn. It was caramel, vanilla, and roasty. the whiskey came through.

From the menu:
Aged for thirty-six weeks in Jack Daniels and Woodford Reserve barrels, Faustenstein is a robust blend of our Fausten Weisenbock and Eugene Porter. A nose of bourbon, vanilla, and fruity esters gives way to a rich body with notes of nuts, caramel malt, dark fruits, and dark chocolate with a warming alcohol finish.
