Brews Before Brushes: Big Hugs (Half Acre)
I had just a bit of time left before the painting class at Jury's started, so I had a taste of Big Hugs at Half Acre down the street. This imperial stout was the warmer I needed for that cold winter day. It seems that it's released annually; definitely worth looking forward to.
General Thoughts
Look and Smell: This jet black brew had a very thick coffee-colored head. It was extremely bubbly!
Taste: It was so thick and warming. It had a nice coffee roast bitterness. It was more bitter than expected. Seems to be the Half Acre way. It was like bitter bakers chocolate. This is the brew I was after.
From the menu (slightly more descriptive than the site):
This jet black magma-birthed with liquid lightning is our gift to you. Featuring Dark Matter coffee.
They sell Dark Matter coffee beans in their shop and have some brewed during some cold winter days. It smells rich and divine.
