Black Lager (Bischoff)

I ordered a half liter pour of this schwarzbier from the tap at Prost on North Lincoln Ave. This spot had a 22 oz pretzel and pretty decent meals, but some of their beers were really out there pricewise. Some were rare, some were not. This traditional black lager was fairly priced though.

General Thoughts
Look and Smell: This black brew had a thick, off-white head. It left light lacing as I drank it down. It smelled of earthy malts and hops.

Taste: It was a sweet lager. It was thick and malty. It was balanced. It was a good example of a traditional schwarzbier. It was like a Köstritzer.

From the Bischoff site:
A classic German "Schwarzbier" or "Black Beer" with a traditional black color and a full but mild taste.
