Big Bella, the 2009 barrel-aged heavy scotch ale made it into the advent calendar box for Day 6. This is a boozy, heavy, warmer that was meant for these snowy days. I picked up the bottle at Shoreline Brewery in 2013. It was 4 years old then, but 3 more years probably helped. It was smooth and delicious with rich caramel flavors. I'd like a bit more heavy grains, but that didn't stop me from drinking this up. Another one that isn't one you can find, but a heavy scotch ale should definitely be on your winter list.
