25 Drinks: The Dark Side of Holiday Cheer

Day 11's boozy advent treat was Evil Czech's annual Russian Imperial Stout, Stalin's Dark Side. It has been aging since I picked it up at the release feast in 2014. It's without a label since they didn't print it in time. They offered to mail one, but after a bit of nagging, I gave up.

This dark, dark, beer was just as warming as I remembered. It's a perfect edition to the beer advent lineup. The sweetness mellowed with age. It was still so decadent, but I took it one step further and busted out some macarons. Russian Imperial Stouts are great boozy treats to drink alone or wash down sweet, and just as flavorful, treats.
