Belgian Child (Hunter's Brewing)
Hunter's really has something with this Mild Child base. They brewed Bashful, with a similar recipe, and now this Belgian Child. It uses much of the same ingredients as the standard brown, but has the Belgian yeast and sugars. It was delicious.
General Thoughts
Look and Smell: This black beer was a very dark brown in the sun. It had a tan, bubbly head. It smelled like burnt sugar, caramel.
Taste: It was lighter than expected. It was very carbonated. It had a coffee-type acid to it. It was also more roasted than expected. The roast flavor sticks. I really enjoyed this one. It's like an after-dinner coffee. It smells like candy and tastes like coffee. There was a slight chocolate to it too.
